TN: Forman 1995 Cabernet

1995 Forman Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)
This was a pop and pour. Started looking at my cellar and notice a fair amount of cabs from the early to mid 90’s that should be consumed. Forman was one of my prized wines in the 90’s. I am still saving a few for birth year wines (not mine) but wanted to check on on the 95 at 15 years old.
Starts out with a big burst of cedar and black cherries and licorice. The first thought is, wow - this is 15 years old and still packs a punch and has a youthful exuberance. Over a short time, the wine mellows and softens. Elegant is the best way to describe this. The sweet black cherries turns to plums, the oak/cedar fades and the wine mellows and is quite elegant. Soft and round with a long finish. I watched this evolve over the course of about 7 hours. It started fading at around hour 7 but by that point, I was tossing the empty bottle into the blue bin.
