TN: Estezargues Carambouille VdF Rouge '21....(short/boring)

Had this red this last weekend:

  1. LesVignerons l’Estezargues Carambouille VdF Rouge (13.5%; 65% Cinsault/32% Carignan/3% Grenache; Aged: 6 mo.in concrete tanks; StorkWineCo/ non-Filtre; Demeter) Rhone 2021: Med.light color; pleasant cherry/strawberry rather earthy/dusty/OV bit grapey/simple nose; lightly tart some grapey/cherry/strawberry rather coarse/rustic/earthy some dusty/OV simple/grapey flavor w/ light tannins; med.short lightly tart light grapey/strawberry rather earthy/coarse/rustic/light near vapid finish w/ light tannins; a rather simple rustic/coarse/earthy glou-glou wine with little redeeming features. $18.00 (SFW&S)

More kiblestrap from TheBloodyPulpit:

  1. I had the White version of this wine from this producer (www.jennyandfrancois.com/wines-2/france/les-vignerons-d’-estezargue/a weel) a week ago & liked it quite a bit for the $$. So had high hopes for this rouge version. Alas, those hopes were crashed upon the rocks of mediocrity.

havent had this cuvee or vintage but this cooperative was a god send in march of 2020 where i drank several from 2015 and 2016. super underrated and great qpr in the right vintage.

Agree… a really solid coop that makes really good wines. The white was very impressive. The red less so but still a solid value.
