More fun in Puerto Rico with the usual suspects. Wines were on point and the food was strong as well. Wonderful evening.
DINNER WITH BAD BUNNY PART II - (1/9/2026)
CdM
- 2003 Krug Champagne Clos du Mesnil - France, Champagne
PnP. Rich and uncuous with crisp honey and lime zest. Finish a touch short. - 2004 Krug Champagne Clos du Mesnil - France, Champagne
PnP. Needed a bit of air. Crystalline and structured. Brioche and toast points. Really good.
PYCM CC I
- 2015 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Corton-Charlemagne - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Decanted. Something skunky about this bottle. - 2016 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Corton-Charlemagne - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Decanted. Bright and fresh. Rounder and more richness. Very good, just missing a touch of zip. - 2017 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Corton-Charlemagne - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Decanted. Absolute Rockstar on form. Zippy and lifted. Depth and drive. Great finish. WOTF.
PYCM CC II
- 2013 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Corton-Charlemagne - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Decant. Great nose. Palate is a bit flaccid and lacking pop. - 2014 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Corton-Charlemagne - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Quick decant. Tight and linear on first pour. Lots of tension. Never quite opened up. - 2020 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Corton-Charlemagne - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Quick decant. Lots of power and braun. Large scale wine. Depth and drive on the finish.
Reds
- 1971 Maison Leroy Musigny - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Musigny Grand Cru
PnP. Wonderful color and fill. Super sultry and perfumed nose. Air revealed cocoa nibs and spice box. Palate has hoisin, ash and cigar box with some light and bright red fruit. Continued to improve. - 1987 Emmanuel Rouget Echezeaux - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
Double decant 4 hours. Lean and acid driven, but not green at all. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Feels a lot like some recent 08s and probably never going to change it's colors. - 1991 Emmanuel Rouget Echezeaux - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
Double decanted 4 hours. A bit of a strange nose. Lots of ripe fruit and you could smell the sun. Palate was loads of fruit and depth. Powerful wine with depth for days. - 2002 Maison Leroy Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet
PnP. Perfumed nose with some Playdoh character. Purple fruit. Not much else to say.
