It’s been a good long while since I’ve had one of these. And this one was a great pick. Dark gold in the glass, the body is relatively light in texture, the mere 10% ABV helping in that regard. The nose is all burnt sugar toffee. On the tongue, loads of lusciously sweet ripe stone fruit, particularly apricots. Acidity is quite high. That and the light body keep this from being cloying, this is not a syrupy wine in the least.
Great sweet wine here. Good meal ender on its own or with fruit desserts. I could also see it being mixed with soda water or sparkling wine and served over ice with a fresh lemon slice to make a refreshing spritzer cocktail. Great stuff, highly recommended. Enjoy now if you have a bottle but it will certainly continue to age well.
