2013 Dirty and Rowdy Mourvedre - USA, California, Central Coast, Chalone (11/16/2014)
Blind, I’d have guessed cru Beaujolais - dark red fruit, tart cherry and black raspberry, a good amount of floral notes but not overwhelming in the nose department. The slightest hint of earth and stone. Medium plus acidity, light body and a garnet color. Medium finish. Thoroughly likable and quaffable, especially for the AFWE crowd. Will see how this ages. 2000 Fattoria di Fèlsina Berardenga Fontalloro - Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT (11/15/2014)
Drinking very nicely and still fairly rich, with dark cherry notes. Still primary. Well integrated but will likely develop aromatically if held. (91 pts.)

2006 Faiveley Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Saint Georges - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru (11/15/2014)
Perfectly good and well balanced but not an “a ha!” Wine. Fairly simple nose of raspberries, minimal complexity. Nice taughtness and lovely tannins on the long finish give it heft and presence. Perhaps this is just shut down a bit. Didn’t go anywhere when decanted for hours though… (90 pts.)

2012 Les Vins de la Madone Côtes du Forez Migmatite - France, Loire Valley, Upper Loire, Côtes du Forez (11/15/2014)
Coravin: dark red Gamay fruit and pencil shavings and cedar dominate with a little floral nose. Tastes very much the young Bojo, a fairly full mouthfeel, firm but supple tannins and moderate acidity. Not bad at all but needs a little time to integrate (89 pts.) -
2001 Château le Meynieu - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc (11/15/2014)
Quite pretty, light on its feet with standard cassis. Youthful but likely not getting much better given short finish and mild tannins. Lacking complexity. (88 pts.)
