TN: A lighter evening with Leflaive, Ente, Meo

Wonderful evening with some of the usual suspects. A lighter evening mainly to pregame and finalize our trip to Beaune next week.

  • 2008 Dom Pérignon Champagne Rosé - France, Champagne (6/30/2026)
PnP. Tightly coiled, needed a bit to open. Lovely strawberry fruit and herbal depth. Very nice wine right now.
  • 2017 Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru (6/30/2026)
Double decant 3 hours. On from the first pour. Really nice chiseled frame with lovely body and depth. Layers of interest, but stops short of the ideal à la the Chevy.
  • 2021 Arnaud Ente Meursault - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault (6/30/2026)
PnP. Very reduced and needed a couple of hours to open. Lovely depth with layers of chewy, dry extract. Rivals most 1er bottlings.
  • 2013 Domaine Méo-Camuzet Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Brûlées - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru (6/30/2026)
PnP. Could have used a decant for an hour. Once it emerged, it softened into a wonderful wine in a beautiful spot. Soft tannins with bright fruit and that toasted note that you always get from the "scorched earth" vineyard.
