'99 Champagne Clos Cazals
Lots of baked apples and caramel on the nose. Good acidity. Fairly oxidative in style to a distraction. Dry. Medium bodied. Tart. A rather clipped finish. Not much elegance. A K&L/Gary Westby selection from a couple of years ago. It has never performed like it did at the tasting. Thankfully, my last bottle.
