This is a lovely wine. Violets, plums, cherries and hazelnuts. Mid-weight, crisp and vibrant. Perfect ripeness whilst maintaining mineral crunch.

Thanks for the fine note Jeremy. I really enjoyed this wine too. For me, Fabio is the best maker in the Langhe considering all varieties. It seems like every one of his wines from rose of pelaverga to his Cru Baroli excel at their intended goal. They don’t seem to try to be more than they are meant to be, but comfortably fill the niche they should. This wine’s goal is to be simply delicious and it excels at that. Thanks again!

Thanks Todd. I was thinking ‘this is just as it should be’ when I was drinking it.

Have you tried his excellent freisas? Who knew you could coax such juiciness out of that grape! (He say the trick is to pick fairly late.)

Thanks for the note. I’ve had a few of the 22’s and I always think to myself 'wow this is a lot more serious than your normal Dolcetto"

Good point John. Yes. They seem to have a degree of finesse and nuance unusual for the variety. I thought his '23 I tried a couple weeks ago was a terrific success for the vintage.
