    Some smoky mineral and pure white peach. Good shape and volume. Perfectly ripe peach fruit at its core. Some chalky build and a touch of spice. Excellent volume and poise. Outstanding village wine.

You have tasted several times at PYCM if memory serves me.

Do you have any thoughts/knowledge on the canard/rumor/belief that Pierre Yves “makes” the Caroline Morey whites.

I have a feeling it’s much like anything in marriage … lots of pillow talk and mutual exchange of info and division of labor.

Others can chime in …

Hi Matthew,

Pierre-Yves makes all of the whites and Caroline makes all of the reds. The whites of PYCM and CM are vinified and raised identically from what I understand. For example, 2024 Caillerets from both were picked within hours of each other.

Well now I feel like a chump. No surprise there.

I thought I was so clever when I’d tell people: “You know, I actually like Caroline’s recent whites more than her husband’s!” :squinting_face_with_tongue:

This is interesting. I like you Matthew opined that I preferred Caroline’s wines to PYCM. But and this is a big but I do think that the PYCM wines have improved over the last 15 yrs. My points of reference were for older PYCM and younger CM :slight_smile:
I have afriend who completed a vintage with PYCM and CM a number of years ago and she has confirmed to me that vinification is identical for each brand. The only real variable is picking time.
Whatever, they are both spectacular sources.
