TN: 2022 Trader Joe's Pinot Noir Grand Reserve Lot #124 (USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley)

This is a nice wine

$12 at TJ's. I asked my wife not to buy these but every once in awhile she finds a needle in a haystack. This is definitely a needle.

Light crimson color and great clarity. Knows house a bit of cinnamon stick and raspberry. Pallet is strawberry, red cassis, and cherry. Medium acidity. Very light on its feet. 13.5ABV. Blind I would guess this was a Oregon Pinot noir.

    Great QPR and quaffer.

Buzz always has glamorous photographs of his wine in his beautiful cellar.

Here’s my picture with the backdrop of my pool equipment, trash cans, and barbecue.

It’s where I hang when I’m grilling like tonight.

Their Platinum Reseve Petit Verdot is a grand slam. It’s about the only one I trust.

Currently available in Chicago?

Purchased in Orange County, CA

Thanks, Brigadoon. I was replying to @J_Patrick_Lynch regarding the Petit Verdot.

I will do the same. When I go to Trader Joe’s, which isn’t often, I tend to hit the one on Roosevelt in the South Loop.

That’s a good score for Hinman.

I’m sure that they are moving huge volume, but these wines sell for around $14/bottle. Given that the stores have to be making a profit, how much is Hinman making per bottle? Maybe a buck or two?

If it weren’t worth their time they wouldn’t do it.

You need to understand that the bulk wine market is saturated with excellent choices.

I want to be the Trader Joe’s wine buyer tasting all these shiners. Gotta be a fun job.
