TN: 2022 Chateau de Pez

With all the 2022 tasting notes hitting the boards, I figured I’d pop the cork on a more budget friendly option. Opened yesterday and tasted again today. Smelled lovely right out of the bottle and was very nice and fresh with ripe black cherry, blackberry and plum fruits along with tobacco and cedar notes. Tannins are surprisingly gentle (round? Integrated?) and is very approachable now. Still great this evening and has settled in a bit more. Not having the Bordeaux experience of many here, I was surprised by how pleasantly ripe and accessible this is. That said, still think this would benefit from a year or 2 of age but it’s a very tasty, wallet-friendly option and I will definitely pick up more.
