2021 Realm Cellars Sauvignon Blanc Fidelio - USA, California, Napa Valley (4/1/2023)
Wow, I have not had a Sauv Blanc like this since the famed 97 pt Merry Edwards in what was that, 2011? The color is a pale straw, slightly hazy though could be the miles I put on the glass I had. Nose is punchy, white peach, melon, some pineapple, tropical all together. Super pronounced. above average viscous in the glass. The palate, this has weight, super fruit forward and velvety (wow), white peach leading and tangerine, its serious. Mineral backdrop, wet stones, acidity well woven in, very nice when you take a pause. Then you pause, and realize this is an SB, how is this outclassing things I drank earlier, and being a late comer to the table...This is exceptional and even better on day 2, still quite ripe however some honeysuckle notes and feels softer. Have had few SBs that showed up well on a day 2. If you can get over the price point, its a crowd-pleaser.
