- 2021 Podere le Boncie (Giovanna Morganti) Chiesamonti Toscana IGT - Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT (11/11/2024)
Decanted 3 hrs. AG was very bullish on this particular vintage of Podere le Boncie, and finding this locally, I was eager to pull a cork. Somewhat reserved on the nose, but with some aggressive swirling, a pleasant floral aroma emerged some touches of earth and other soil tones. Within the third sip, it was obvious this was going to score high on my EE (Exquisitely Elegant) scale with a texture that is both fine and seamless, tactful, and just a joy to swirl around the cheeks and gums. Primary and very correct Sangiovese dark cherry fruit, that while has a youthful edge, hints at future greatness. Long close. Wait 5 to 8 years for the next check in.
