    This really is a clear look at old vine Chardonnay, unadorned. Refreshing, zesty mouthfeel, and lots of fresh tree fruit tones make this easy to drink. When I force myself to linger (but I want that next sip, I really want it!) I get more of a sense of the underlying acidic structure, and how solid the base of this wine really is. Sad that John can't make this anymore, but glad to have had it.

Enfield’s chardonnays are so good and often can be found for a song, even the single vineyard ones.

What is happening to the Haynes fruit?

I don’t exactly recall other than that @John_Lockwood no longer gets it.

Haynes sold to the group that bought Heitz and I believe they have released several vintages under the name Haynes Vineyard. I have not tried their wines out of bottle yet. I expect they are excellent as it would be difficult for them not to be from that site. They are however, NOT cheap.
