TN: 2021 Cristom Pinot Noir Mt. Jefferson Cuvée

  • 2021 Cristom Pinot Noir Mt. Jefferson Cuvée - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Eola - Amity Hills (8/17/2024)
Impressive showing from a P&P. All the trademark Cristom traits are on display here: dark black currant fruit, a little bit of root beer, loads of spices and that slight touch of aldehyde that is usually present in a young Cristom. The 21 version though has loads of structure and for an entry wine, could easily go a decade plus. I actually preferred this to the 21 Jesse vineyard, but in due time, I have zero doubts that wine will pull ahead. (92 points)

Thanks for the note, this is a new wine to me. I will try to check it out now!

Can’t think of many Pinot producers doing such a goodt job for so long that gets so little attention.

It’s a pretty good value, too.

Anton, A very reliable local merchant wasn’t fan of the 2022 at all ( I was prepared to pull the trigger) and highly recommended seeking back for the 21. The Mt Jeff Cuvee is usually around 90% the quality of the single vineyards at 40% to 45% off the price tag.
