TN: 2020 Zind-Humbrecht Riesling Clos Häuserer (France, Alsace)

According to CT, my last ZH purchase was a decade ago, and only three bottles over the last 15. But this came up dirt cheap at the Grand VIN closeout, so I was eager to try a new vintage as reports have been very positive - less extreme, more precision etc (though I have always been a. Big fan). Impressive wine here. Starts with a blast of quince showcasing the ZH richness but it also has a bitter quality that provides a great counter balance and this is flat out tasty. Indice 1 so this is dry no question, and great citrus acidity lubricates for the next sip or bite of my white curry Thai with short rib. Smoky with some gravely notes too. Perhaps not the length or breadth of a Rangen or Brand, but this was a real delight in every way.
