TN: 2020 Ridge Geyserville

We went up to Healdsburg today to try the 2020 Geyserville. Plenty of Geyserville typicity – lush red and black berry fruit, earth and spices. There is a little touch of oak but it is dancing in the background rather than punching you in the head. Even though you can feel the tannins, they are obscured by the prominence of the fruit. Completely open for business now, this is an excellent Geyserville that will age well for at least a decade. The server said these bottles were opened over 3 hours before being served. 14.1% alcohol. The blend is 69% Zinfandel, 20% Carignane, 8% Petite Sirah, 2% Alicante Bouschet and 1% Mataro. If you like Ridge Geyserville, buy with confidence. We brought some home with us and look forward to trying it again soon!

Yup, Ed. Tasted this last week with much to same reaction as yours. It’s a very good/solid Geyserville w/ low-key/restrained Ridge oak. Can’t go wrong with this wine.
