TN: 2020 Pierre-Marie Chermette Fleurie Poncié

2020 Pierre-Marie Chermette Fleurie Poncié - France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Fleurie (3/16/2023)
Sure hope this was an off bottle, as it showed very screechy acidity, thin fruit, and a distinct underripe green streak. Checked it multiple times over a couple of hours and it only got worse. Eventually dumped it. One more to check, but will wait a couple of years.

That’s a shame. It was one of my go-tos, but I haven’t picked any up for a few years. As I recall, it always had nice acidity and bright fruit, so I could see it being off in a cold and wet year but wasn’t 2020 really warm? Strange. I hope they haven’t changed something.

My few samplings of 2020 Beaujolais have been rather up and down. Perhaps just a tough year.
