2020 Domaine Jean-Claude Bachelet et Fils Puligny-Montrachet „Les Aubues“

What a relief this Puligny-Montrachet was after a disppointing and „one-dimensional“ 2017 Huber Chardonnay AR Magnum. Here it is all about finesse&elegance and noblesse. In case of Huber it was all about a wannabe Puligny-Montrachet. Yes, I am a bit harsh/mean. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

The PM is soo delicious, you would want to drown in it. Flowers, juicy fruit, spice, brioche and a chalky finish. Mmmmmh………

A top producer who doesn’t get enough attention. Les Aubues is an enclave within Encégnières and very well situated, what’s more.

Nice stuff guys! On Puligny, we opened a 2017 J.M. Boillot Champs-Canet (1er cru) this weekend that really blew our socks off. It was fairly old school and could definitely go longer, but was not big and blowsy–just big, fruited, framed well with integrating oak. It had a crystalline quality and balance and an outstanding finish.

only recently did I hear of him—Denis gets all the Bachelet kudos.

I really like this producer !! Nice note
