TN: 2020 Daou Paso Robles Cabernet

IMHO, NOT AT ALL as good as the 2019…

Ruby, purple sheen
Raspberry, anise, herbal nose
Fleshy, in NEED of more structure and acidity
Candied: bordering on over-ripeness
Medium-long finish (the latter, NOT a good thing)
VERY pedestrian; SO many more wines MUCH better in this price range…

I would expect this wine to be overipe.

Barry are there any Cabs from Paso you would recommend that are not fruit forward and more dry in style? Everything I have tasted from there in the Cab department is not something I would buy again.

Not Barry, but…you could try Adelaida “Viking” (good fit with Minnesnowta). This is pretty close to Daou but a more restrained style. I hate to recommend Justin, but some of the blends are decent.

Can’t stand Justin wines. Not quite up there with the Orin Swift wines. I would drink a glass at a party though. [cheers.gif]
