TN: 2020 Château Latour Pauillac de Latour (France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac)

2020 Château Latour Pauillac de Latour - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac (12/5/2025)
Sadly, I rarely get to drink Ch. Latour...but when I do, it is my favorite First G! That graphite powder, dark liqueured berry fruited goodness, exotic spiced, PLUSH silky smooth elegance...GETS me every bottle! This Pauillac gets me that...on the cheap! Has it...just dialed back a few notches! Of course this is very young...shows a little greenness(wife said dill, I tobacco) yet plenty gorgeous dark berry fruits, plush tannins, smoked cherry wood and cedar spice...and that killer graphite powder! I could drink this all day long! Very happy at the price point I paid...satisfies that Latour itch! (94 points)

I do like me some graphite. Any others in this vein you’d recommend?

@B_Buzzini mind sharing what price you got it for?

I know that Les Forts is mostly made from specific parts of Latour, augmented by wine that didn’t make it into the Grand Vin. Do you know how they choose the lots that go into Pauillac?

I interpret the below as young vines, less than ideally situated plots and declassified lots along with a higher percentage of Merlot in the blend.
