TN: 2020 Château d'Issan (France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux)

  • 2020 Château d'Issan - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux (3/4/2024)
Decanted 8hrs. Never a better example of why its such a good time to be buying and enjoying Bordeaux. I al ready had a few of these from Costco, and seeing this at TJ’s for about the same price of $59.99 had to get another one. Should a young Bord taste this good this young? As I state that please don’t think for a second that this was heavily manipulated or sculpted to win points. Fantastically aromatic with the pin point lightness on the palate that just screams one classy Margaux. Textbook black currant (which is cat nip to me) swirls with soil tones. Fresh, effortless, fantastic. (94 points)

I’ve had bad luck opening d’Issan young but I also snagged a bottle from Costco to try. I guess I hit the mark on air time because it was lovely and just like you said – classy, super aromatic, beautifully elegant and weightless.

This is great to hear Dale. I enjoy perfumed vintages of Issan like 2000. Will give it a whirl.

Nice, and thanks for the check-in as it is a timely reminder that I should pick some up while the pricing is still close to release.

I have always enjoyed the style at d’Issan which I think offers some of the best value in Margaux along with Brane Cantenac which has been slaying it for the slight up charge.
