The first bottle from the recent holiday in Vienna to be opened at home. Extremely drinkable which is quite typical for this variety but quite distinctly different from the Niederösterreich versions.

2019 Tement Gelber Muskateller Erste Lage STK Steinbach Fürst - Austria, Styria (9.9.2022)
Very tropically fruity and perfumey on the nose yet markedly salty as well. Yellow plum, pineapple and floral notes - really bright attractive without coming off as a ”generic” Muscat. On the palate quite easy on the entry and pretty relaxed rest of the way too, this is not the most intensely acidic example out there but similarly to the nose there is a wonderful salty edge here. The mouthfeel is rather refined with its combination of good volume and lift. Very low in weight which is less than surprising given the 12% ABV. There is spiciness and power to the palate that colors it a bit more serious in nature than the nose but then it is impressively vivid too with something playful about it. The finish is balanced and lingers for a good while. There could be some residual sugar here but overall it comes off as quite savory. I can see it having a bit of upside but definitely nothing wrong in drinking it right now.
