TN: 2019 Parady Family Wines Cabernet Sauvignon Bluford (USA, California, Napa Valley)

  • 2019 Parady Family Wines Cabernet Sauvignon Bluford - USA, California, Napa Valley (7/5/2025)

Bottle was a gift from the winery owner who is a customer of my business. This is one of three different bottles (2 cabs and a Chardonnay) fruit from Howell Mountain. Cool backstory as his great-great grandfather was one of the original settlers of the Napa Valley and Paradys fought in the battle of Gettysburg.

Opened Wednesday and it was tight, green and tannic. Checked back in Friday, note from Saturday.
It took that long. Pours deep dark crimson purple. Nose of cassis, anise, jalapeño, black currant, oak.
Palate is medium+ bodied black cherry, black currant, with really nice acidity, volcanic soil minerality and chewy ripe tannins. Has an old school appeal with its lean profile and 14% abv. Taking 4 days to pry this wine open just a tad and its still holding back. I opened this way way too young. This can lay down for decades. No other notes on this wine, Jeff needs a marketing person. This is really good.

I think your bottle is the Parady ($270) not the Bluford ($135)?

This is the Bluford

Yes I understand. I have a bottle of that as well. Two separate listings in Cellartracker.
