TN: 2019 Ministry of Clouds Mencía

  • 2019 Ministry of Clouds Mencía - Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale (5/18/2020)
The nose captures you straight away, with fresh cherry fruit, ironstone and purple flowers scents. The palate is delicious as fruit and earthy notes mix it up. The finish is fresh and savoury and length is good.

Never even heard of this producer, sounds interesting as I like quite a few of Chester Osborn’s interesting varietal wines.

That’s a great name.

It’s an excellent wine, some lovely Mencias being made. I do like their Tempranillo Grenache.

Interesting to see Mencia in the McClaren Vale. Seems a world apart in terms of terroir and climate than Galicia.

Sometime these things are serendipitous!

Great name, great wines, great people. Their Tassie Chardonnay is also very good.
