2019 Jim Barry Riesling The Lodge Hill - Australia, South Australia, Mount Lofty Ranges, Clare Valley (3/18/2021)
Acid for miles. Kick of lime, lemon. Dry as a lake bed. Just shy of austere. My jam, love it. (91 pts.)

Usually, this is about is in the low $20 AU range and $4 AU more that the Watervale you’ve already had a look at. I’d pay the extra every time. Definite step up in quality and seriousness.
I seem to remember Adam, that you have detected a perception of sweetness in some ostensibly dry wines, so I would imagine a lot of Australian Rieslings to be very comfortably in your wheelhouse though it may be a question of how many you can find? Pewsey Vale, an Eden Valley wine from the Yalumba stable is another that may have reasonable distribution, while Frankland Ridge from Western Australia have also long been noted for their Rieslings. Grosset from Clare Valley with their Polish Hill and Watervale offerings have long been benchmarks, but really, there are a slew of top Eden Valley & Clare examples worth looking out for. And of course, you could look out for the top Jim Barry offering ‘The Florita’.
Nice note! As mentioned before in one of your Aussie Riesling reviews love the dry ones! I believe most of Australia is dry as a lake bed.
I’ve had great luck with almost all the Aussie Riesling in this regard! All but the entry level Jim Barry have been bone dry. And the overall quality has been mind-blowing for the QPR. Unfortunately, like you mention, not very much of the stuff comes here and the really higher end stuff, with the exception of Grosset of course, seems pretty much unavailable.
Here in the US , I’m a little more gun shy. Seems to be all over the place in sweetness levels.
