Some more slummin’ with regional 2019 Burgs and I think this is one of my faves thus far, just a super well crafted, stylish wine. It is a great value at 24€ but the 2020 will surely be 34€ and the 2021 44€ as that’s just how things are with Burgundy right now so likely I will never buy this wine again but I am happy to have tried it.

2019 Domaine Nicole Lamarche Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits - France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits (11.3.2023)
Surprisingly minerally on the nose with clean, bright red cherry-driven fruit and hints of sous bois and oak. Attractive and expressive with a sense of transparency to it. On the palate on the lighter side of medium bodied with quite soft tannins and little to no weight. Unlike some 2019s this is not markedly new worldy in its expression. It has the feel of a wine made with a very light winemaker’s touch and just comes off as elegant and understated without any hard edges. Clocking in at 13% and sporting good acidity it feels quite energetic and juicy and even has a mouth-watering sensation on the finish. Quite impressive for its level.
