2019 Desire Lines Mourvèdre Experimental Series #5 Bedrock Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Valley (3/18/2023)
Drank one of these in May 2022. Couldn’t even wait a year for another one. Rich, savory, a bit wild, and entirely satisfying, this is the burly side of Mourvèdre, but very well appointed. There’s structure, but it’s not blatant. The deep, dark fruit tames the more animalistic elements of the grape. Eventually it’s comfortable - a really nice chair that smells of old leather, but shows no signs of wear.
