TN: 2019 Bedrock Wine Co. Old Hill Ranch Heritage

Yet again I manage to open a bottle within days (in this case 2) of the one year anniversary of the last bottle I opened. How do I keep doing this???

Anyway, this feels more like a Dry Creek or Alexander Valley Zin. The depth and sappiness remind me of Teldeschi or Nervo. Maybe it’s the Grenache in the blend, heightening the fruit. Maybe it’s the vintage. I don’t know, but it’s balanced and luscious at the same time. If I could stay upright I would drink the whole bottle.

Loved this young and enjoyed it again this weekend. You didn’t mention the nose! Gorgeous.

I popped one this afternoon to go with a Flannery Jorge this evening. After a glass, noticed I had pulled the whole cluster. Oops! This was REALLY young last year but it’s actually in a pretty good place right now. Looking forward to following it throughout the evening.

Good to know Greg! I agree, it was VERY young when i popped one last year. Almost a waste really (other than the confirmation to not touch them for a bit). Appreciate the update

TL/DR; still needs time sideways. It’s definitely coming along and was giving a lot more than last year…but this was one of those bottles that seemed to open up a bit after a couple of hours open, only to then shut down soon thereafter. Still an excellent accompaniment to the Flannery Jorge and I’ll definitely be sitting on my last bottle for another 5+ years.

Due to unplanned events, the last glass was not poured until 5 minutes ago. It’s certainly holding on, and I still love where it’s at right now.
