TN 2018 Stereophonic Gruner Veltliner Endless River Paragon Vineyard

Popped the top (screwed the cap?) on this lovely bottle tonight and thought that I’d give some kudos to a fellow WBer. Wonderful wine! my TN:

Medium gold with just a slight haze in the glass. Lovely fragrant nose- very high toned and full of minerals, chalkiness, some ocean spray, and fresh lemon oil. Reminds me of my favorite Chablis characteristics. I expected a high-acid zing-monster in the mouth, and while high acid for sure, it is a bit fuller, rounder, softer than I expected. That’s a good thing! Tart green apple, fresh lemon, a touch of grapefruit pith with a core of stoniness running through the whole experience. Body is nearing medium. Lovely finish with some refreshing bitterness. Very good stuff. Wonderful with schnitzel. Don’t believe the drink by 2023 date on CellarTracker. Especially under screw cap, this wine has miles to go. Well done!

Thank you, Noah! I remain mystified at the longevity of this wine. It does drink really well right now and seems to really have a fresh core that will carry it for some years yet.
