TN: 2018 Louis Michel Chablis - 1er Cru Butteaux Vieilles Vignes (France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru)

2018 Domaine Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Butteaux Vieilles Vignes - France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru (4/22/2023)
– popped and poured –
– tasted non-blind over a couple hours –

Soft, light, and gentle. It’s “fine” – a nice, lean, steely Chardonnay, but not much depth, verve, or acidity. Gut impression score: mid to high 80s.

Is it worth aging a bit more hoping for improvement?

I don’t see any harm in doing that.

that’s disappointing, as the 2014 and 2017 are :fire:

Grabbed a 2020 a few weeks ago. Much better than the regular, Butteaux isn’t my favorite vineyard though compared to MdT.
