TN: 2018 Lamy-Caillat Bourgogne Blanc (France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Blanc)

  • 2018 Lamy-Caillat Bourgogne Blanc - France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Blanc (5/7/2024)
Ridiculously good for its level. Some smoky mineral reduction and citrus blossom. The palate has a sweet core of white peach. There's freshly grated ginger too. It is unctuous and silky of texture. The finish has citrus rind freshness and it persists. Entering a good drinking zone but still very fresh and vital.

Nice note. I will be on the lookout for this one, but I’m sure it isn’t easy to locate.

Hi Joel,

I paid less than US$50 for it on release. I suspect it is quite a bit more now.

cheers
Jeremy

Only about x10 that in € :face_with_peeking_eye:

Sounds lovely and tried to forget about the note as soon as I saw the price.

Interesting price. I just saw a Bourgogne Aligote from that producer pre-arrival for over $600 per bottle. It looks like I won’t be sampling one anytime soon.

My suspicions have been validated.

Yeah, I got a case of 2017 Caillerets for €70. Those were the good days.

If they make an Aligoté, it’s news to me

I defer to your knowledge, since you’re the guy that put that producer on the map! If it was a straight Bourgogne Blanc, so be it. It remains extremely expensive for a Bourgogne.
