2018 Kelley Fox Wines Pinot Noir Maresh Vineyard Royal Ann Block - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills (11/2/2020)
Decanted 5 hrs. I remember vividly when I tasted this wine with Dustin @ KF this summer, this beauty was one to buy and enjoy early. Last night bottle supported this concept. Of the 3 2018 Maresh designates (Star of Beth & Red Barn) the RAB delivers a most delicious medley of ripe fruit; spicy red plums initially, slightly juicy, turning on the back half that had an ever so slight bitter edge, as if one just tasted some fresh cranberries. Beyond the wonderful fruit, this proudly has the KF elegance, just a joy to put this in your mouth. A bit of earth and sneaky acidity all hit late. I’m sure this will age very well, and I intend to see where this goes in 10-15 years, but pull the cork with confidence today. (94 pts.)
