TN: 2018 Frank Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

  • 2018 Frank Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley - USA, California, Napa Valley (10/25/2022)
Dark color. Nose of macerated blackberries and boysenberries that just shoots out of my glass (Gabriel Glas StandArt). Palate sbows a boldness that I really love, one without a heavy-handedness so associated with many wines these days. Totally correct Cabernet Sauvignon almost a bit throw back 30 years. Its actually graceful and elegant as well.
Black fruits in a soft glove, this is pure and aligned and open for business. Near perfect balance, this has some great acidity, enough to make Bob Mondavi smile. Finish is decent and seems to fall-off at the very end but hey, this puppy is like $48 and where you gonna get so much value in a Napa Cab these days?
This has historically been and remains one of the single best values in the valley and the good thing, it's like all over the place, so easily available. (92 points)

Frank Family has always been a solid. Great price and great wine. Nice note!

Thanks for the note.
I often see this wine on shelves and wondered about it. I am not a big Napa Cab fan but enjoy it occasionally. Now that they are owned by Treasury will the wine suffer? Are there any independent Napa wineries at this price point left?

Not many at this quality level. A true modern day QPR hero
