You’re threatening Alfert with a good time!
I really enjoyed 18 Reynard this week - surprisingly fresh and accessible. Will have to try 18 Jamet - didn’t buy any tho.
Looking forward to your note. Maybe tasting the 18 Reynard I’ll have to revisit my hot take.
If you go to NYC before LA - I will ban you from this forum.

Todd will protect me from the wrath of Fu!
If you ever came back from down south….
I actually organized one of those earlier this year that Jayson was at.

I was NOT invited, but I will crash that sh*t!
When is this happening?
Typo. But you figured it out. Whisky has been free-pouring tonight.
Are we going to have to do this in Chicago then, so it’s in neutral territory? Adrian, can you guarantee Alfert protection for this meet?
I’m in for either!

Hey, I can drop off your Benetiere!
Let’s slip one or two in blind. Might make things spicy
I hope that this is just the vintage speaking to Jamet. Only have had 2008 and earlier Jamet and Jamet had NEVER been less feral and brighter-fruited wine than comparable Allemand to me.
The late 90s, early 00s Allemand are fiercely feral. Since then, I feel it’s been dialled back in favour of a luxurious, silky texture. But in my note I was referring to the way I see Côte-Rôtie vs Cornas.
It’s a Berserker maxim: Let no analogy go unchallenged.
Normally I’d challenge with a third analogous wine just to make sure we all go into a confusing loop. But am off-form and also I typed the challenge just before plane took off.

Sounds like a party…have plenty of allemand.
Sounds like we need a N. Rhone Berserkerfest or something. I’m in too – I have lots of Jamet and Allemand (and other goodies) waiting for the right occasion.
Had to grab one
Same here.
Slightly OT, but anyone here have any thoughts / insight on the 2019 Jamet Cote Rotie?
- 2018 Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie - France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côte-Rôtie (1/8/2022)
Hot take: wine of the vintage.
…
Well, possibly among the ones you´ve tasted.
I would at least throw into play:
- Côte-Rôtie Côte brune, Domaine Rostaing
- Côte-Rôtie La Belle Hélène, Stephane Ogier
- Hermitage, Domaine J.L.Chave
… all phantastic efforts in this vintage.
Gerhard, or everybody else:
What would be your take on Levet, esp. 2017 ?
I bought 2 btl of each amethyste, maestria, peroline. price point 40/50/60€.
how does 2018 compare, or 2019 for that matter ?
thanx !
We did a wine whore dinner a month or two ago. Wine if the night was 78 Rostaing Landonne.
