TN: 2017 Weingut Keller Scheurebe Kabinett (Germany, Rheinhessen)

  • 2017 Weingut Keller Scheurebe Kabinett - Germany, Rheinhessen (3/25/2022)
A floral and spicy nose with guava, passion fruit, asian pear, and slate. On the palate it has a terrific balance of fruit, RS, acid, florals, and mineral with some cooling green herbal notes on the back end. This is a wine of contrasts that come together to a greater whole. Extroverted, yet beautifully poised. Intense yet weightless. Exotic yet graceful. Finishes clean and fresh, yet seems to linger on both the palate and the mind. Pretty terrific, if maybe less electric than on release. I am sure this will age well, and I would love to see a bottle with decade under its belt, but this is a wine that was so fantastic young, that I am tempted to drink them in their youthful glory. 93 (93 pts.)

Thanks. I managed to score a few bottles of the 2020. Will likely open one soon, but may bury two just for fun. If I am successful I will let you know where and when for the 10 year check in.
