TN: 2017 Heitz-Lochardet Pommard 1er Clos Poutures

You missed my point entirely. You said “most better wines from 2010, another fabulous vintage, are still very primary and too young”. I gave you an example of a 2010 wine which I, and every other guest at the table that evening, felt was resolved and firing on all cylinders. A Premier Cru Chambolle-Musigny, as you said. I’m aware that exceptions confirm the rule and that we might arguably not even be talking about one of the better wines of the vintage, but I was, in fact, not arguing that I had to wait a long time for it to mature and what a shame that is, which is how you interpreted my response for some reason.

I’ve tasted a few 2020s at the domaine in June. The one I liked the most was not a Pommard (I think it was Pezerolles), but Volnay Taillepieds, which was lovely.

By the way, I really disliked the Bourgogne Rouge. Both 2018, which I own, and 2020 tasted at the domaine. Tastes like Gamay. Mentioned it to the lady at the tasting room. She said, - “yes, it has 20% gamay in it”

I have the 19 open tonight, notes later. Spoiler alert, it’s spectacular.

Glad to read that. Have some 2019 and 2020.

thanks for updating this thread, Michael. Has missed it originally and I’ve been curious about this house. Looks like I’ll have to try to find some
