TN: 2017 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre

2017 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre - France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru (12/5/2024)
Not Domaine, but still a killer 2017 rockin the chisel with crushed limestone...sappy orchard fruits that's crisp, with a slight tropical fullness...bright citrus acids...LOVE the chalk dust...salty sea air with a little crushed oyster funk...some aged dry honey and white flower creme rounding out the 1er richness feel. My third bottle(not tonight) and very consistent...which is why Fevre is a GO TO producer in Chablis Land! (94 points)

Yeah one of the best (fairly) widely available producers. Thanks for the nice note.

If it was your third bottle, you’d be posting this from your bathtub. (And we’re all grateful this isn’t your third bottle,)

Oh Patrick…the bubbles are callin…it’s chilly tonight…and I am nursing two other open leftover bottles…wife at bunko tonight…maybe an update later! :face_with_peeking_eye:

If I’m ever in your part of the world, we shall peruse those bottles. But for now…

i’m confused (it’s easy to do this with me)–this is the Domaine Fevre Not Domaine? I’m assuming that this is the negotiant Fevre bottling. I got some of this sort of by mistake (as noted in your other thread on this wine), and was pretty underwhelmed by my first bottle. Maybe it was travel shock. I’ll try another one soon. (I also communicated with the Woodland Hills folks and asked them to be more specific about exactly which wine they are selling. I think we all assume that we are getting the Domaine wine when we may not be.)

Yes…this bottle is NOT Domaine…although I had it in CT as such. I had listed them as Domaine cuz that’s what I was sold from the retailer(see my other thread). I am just too lazy to change it…and it seems other people have listed this wine as Domaine as well, and just note it’s not.
My first bottle was a little underwhelming as well, still good, just not great. This last one was great. Maybe drinking a buttery Ca. Chard right before had something to do with it?
