TN: 2017 Corison Cabernet Sauvignon (USA, California, Napa Valley, St. Helena)

Contrary to some recent CellarTracker reviews, I found this to be youthful but also very charming. It certainly has teeth, but it also a
Ready has complexity, as the deep red fruit combines with spice, and a bass savory note that builds the foundation of the wine. Following a short pour, I let the rest of the bottle open for two hours before pouring another glass. Good strategy. The fruit lifted, and the aromatics opened the longer the wine was open. If I had to do it all over again (and I will) I would go with a full decant, and not just the open bottle. This is a distinctive and nuanced Napa Valley Cabernet, and one of a small (but not insignificant) group that swim against the prevailing tide. Or perhaps it leads the way to the future.

A friend opened a bottle of the 1993 Corison Cabernet last month and it was drinking remarkably well.

That doesn’t surprise me. I really like the 1993 vintage for Napa Cabernet.

I have always wanted to try Corison. I have never had the pleasure, but I have heard great things about this producer. Thanks for sharing!

I recently had this and had a posting about the wine somewhere else on the site. It may evan have been and 18. I always notice Cathy s wine having a love and hate relationship with reviewers. Her wines are charming and not of the standard Napa style. You hit the nail on the head. Leads the way to the future. Grace and Elegance

Great note David! Also a big Corison fan. Had a half bottle of the 01 a couple months back and it was great. Restrained black cherry fruit and plenty of structure. Still drinking young, even out of 375ml
