TN: 2017 Cadence Bel Canto Cara Mia Vineyard

  • 2017 Cadence Bel Canto Cara Mia Vineyard - USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Red Mountain (2/2/2022)
Day 1: Bordeaux Style Blend featuring Cabernet Franc. Outstanding wine with tobacco, wood, raspberries, spice, minerals, floral and dust. Drinking well on the pop and pour. 73% Cabernet Franc,18% Merlot,9% Petit Verdot (Natural cork) 93 points
Day 2: Even more open for business. Tobacco, floral, earth, dust, spices, minerals, cherry, wood and raspberries. Super complex wine and long finish. This is an amazing value at $39.99 at WTSO. 94 points
Day 3: Interesting transformation with more wood showing along with cherry, dust, raspberries, spices, floral and earth. Medium plus finish and complex wine. This wine will benefit from some age but the potential is very high. 93 points
Recommendation: $39.99 at WTSO with free shipping is a no brainer but for sure cellar this for 5 plus years as others have indicated to me that have had different vintages. (94 pts.)

I don’t think these have any issue going 10+ depending on how you like your wines.

Thanks for the note John, love the multi day look you provide. The early appeal of most Cadence wines masks their capacity to age, which they often do in splendid fashion.

I’ve been buying since the inaugural 1998 vintage, and haven’t had anything over the hill yet. Still have one 99, a few 04, 05’s, several 08’s, 10’s, 11’s, etc. There is certainly no rush. They don’t call these Bordeaux blends for nuthin.

I could easily see this 10 plus.

I love the late 90s Washington State wines. Those were some of the last drinkable Quilceda Creeks made. [cheers.gif]
