TN: 2017 Allegrini Valpolicella (Italy, Veneto, Valpolicella)

  • 2017 Allegrini Valpolicella - Italy, Veneto, Valpolicella (9/28/2019)
An excellent wine that performs the role it’s designed for perfectly. It’s fruity, with balanced tannins and acidity that lets the wine drink easily. It pairs extremely well with southern Italian red sauce dishes. Stock up (I did) and drink it over the next couple of years. (89 pts.)

I find Chianti Classico/Sangiovese blends fits this food/wine niche for me vs. Valpolicella, but if I see one, will grab one to try. Don’t sell Allegrini, so easier for me to access Masi at this price point.

I’ve had one in a while but I like their popularly styled Palazzo. They make good wines that are widely available, so sometimes when we are traveling, and can’t take anything with us I’ll look for things like that.
