100% Garganega. The grapes are sourced from 100 year old vines planted on volcanic soils. About 1/3 of the vines are ungrafted. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged in large French oak casks. Gold yellow color. A dry and extremely deep wine. Richly integrated fruit with pear, apricot and Asian spice. Unctuous texture. Long finish. Simply wonderful. The best Soave I have ever had by far. 96 points.
I’m still open to trying others, and bought some Inama Foscarino recently with that in mind, but yes I’d agree with your closing statement from my experience as well.
IME so far yes, but I am one who will never say “it’s a better wine” as some sort of definitive judgement. Personal tastes can and do differ, and for instance you’ll find some prefer Pioropan’s La Rocca over the Calvarino and vice versa (further complicated by me feeling the former really needs decent age on it).
