TN: 2016 Coudert Fleurie Clos de la Roilette Griffe du Marquis

  • 2016 Coudert Fleurie Clos de la Roilette Griffe du Marquis - France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Fleurie (10/26/2019)
Decanted 6 hrs. I can see the comparison right away to a Cote D’Or wine, and with the masculine, firm like structure, a NSG or Gevrey one at that. Yet, give this a little time in the glass, and the exotic spice like notes carry that Gamay quality, hard to pin point in words but we all know it when we smell it. For all the power this had, it pulls off elegance with great palate coverage, dark raspberry fruit, iron core, and you can feel a little of the wood (which are old barrels I think) but you can clearly see where this wine is going, and that trajectory is clearly north. One of the few Bojo’s that I have had the without hesitation, should improve with age. (92 pts.)

did you taste it initially before decanting?

Big fan of this cuvee, thanks for the note on the 2010. Need to pull one out of storage.
