TN: 2015 Ridge 50th Anniversary Geyserville

  • 2015 Ridge 50th Anniversary Geyserville - USA, California, Sonoma County, Alexander Valley (2/8/2026)
Served alongside our Super Bowl taco bar, so not getting the full attention it deserves, but a very good to excellent Geyserville that is not yet into adulthood. Lots of dark zinberry fruit, and of course the Ridge oak markings, but there is so much substance that there is more than enough runway for this wine to finish integrating the oak, and maybe climb into the top tier of Geezers.

Thanks for this - I have only one bottle remaining, will seit on it for some time, to be certain.

Yes, thank you for this. I also have only 1 bottle left and appreciate the note. I will hold on to my last bottle for at least another year.

Damn guys…I still have 80% of my stash.

My wife loves Ridge Zin so ours didn’t make it very long, and I only bought 3

Ah. I was deep in my “buy as much Ridge as I can before I retire” phase.

My wife (Ronnie) has the nickname “Pagani Ronnie”. We have the Ridge Rack that is front and center just inside the cellar door. Anything that goes into it is likely to get consumed quickly. Occasionally, I am smart enough to put a Ridge blend into a box instead of that rack. I was somehow smart enough to do that with our 3 bottles of 2015 Geyserville so can look forward to checking in on it with appropriate bottle age to really come together.

Cheers,
fred

Thanks for the note. My singleton will sit for a few more years.
And Superbowl night was enhanced by 2011 Bedrock Pagani Heritage… I was too busy watching what I did not want to see and talking with friends to take notes, but it was a beauty and in a very sweet spot.

Kind of weird that you are posting on this bottle, as I was just going through my cellar, and pulling bottles of Ridge…found a lone last bottle of it! CT shows I went through 7 bottles of it…makes me happy I have one left cuz it’s a great wine! :wine_glass:

Yes, my wife’s favorite as well!

A local grocery chain had this at around $24 out the door with 6-bottle purchase.
I purchased.

I went into the cellar last night and my 2015 was whispering to me! I ended up popping the cork and my wife and I enjoyed it, but it was only a whisper of its potential. Great fruit and acidity, but it needed more time for the oak to integrate.

About 10 years or so ago I had a 1978 Geyserville. It was unbelievably fabulous. Made me start holding onto my Geyservilles and Lytton Springs wines. Now, I am no longer sure when to open them. So, I still have my 2015s.

It’s totally safe to hold your 2015s.

I tend to like my Zins on the younger side. Both Geyserville and Lytton are the exceptions for me! Just really, really great with a LOT of age.
