TN: 2015 Nicolas Rossignol Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Lavières

2015 Nicolas Rossignol Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Lavières - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru (7/8/2022)
I was not expecting this from a Savigny-les-Beaune. Ripe almost cooked cherries and strawberries, cocoa nibs, forest floor and warm spices on the nose. This exuberance continues on the palate with the same flavors, firm tanins, medium acidity and some heat on the finish. This is bigger than I expected and to my taste a little too ripe. Not sure how this will age. I could be surprised in ten years but at that price I’ll pass. Bottle 1574 out of 2298.

I tried a number of different N Rossignol PC volnays 2010 through 2013 and they were all consistently elegant, moderately extracted and restrained. Not the best Volnay but quite nice drinking at attractive prices. Sorry to hear that with that 2015.
