TN: 2015 Joh. Jos. Prüm - Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese (Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer)

2015 Joh. Jos. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (11/22/2024)
– popped and poured –
– tasted non-blind over a couple hours on Day 1; revisited on Day 11 –

NOSE: honeyed with light petrol, initially; smells rich; with air and time, the petrol intensified and the honeyed note retreated.

BODY: some spritz; medium maize color; full bodied.

TASTE: potpourri spice; medium acidity; rich; flavors of apples and spiced gum drops; 7.5% alc. not noticeable; in a “relaxed primary” stage of its life. DAY 11: still delicious today, more than a week after it was initially opened; mandarin-apricot extract/concentrate; very sweet, but plenty of tension, particularly if the serving temp. is kept a bit on the cool side, which I recommend. Crazy-good Auslese! Wouldn’t be surprised if this wine outlives me. Drink or Hold.

Appreciate the check in. Somehow I bought six magnums of this, which will definitely outlive me!

oooohhhh, damn!! You weren’t shy!

I’ll gladly take them off your hands. I only have 6 of these and 6 of the GKA in 750 mL (wedding vintage).
