TN: 2015 Cappellano Barolo Piè Rupestris Otin Fiorin

I reckon we over-use the word purity in wine notes. This wine has awesome purity. There is simply no artifice, it is all cherry fruits, decaying plant matter and earth. It has an intense core and is velvety of texture. There’s so much savoury nuance and it finishes with fantastic precision and drive. It is expansive and oh so long. One of the most enjoyable young Barolo I have had.

After the recent report on the 2016, it would seem that Cappellano is on a roll. I have two bottles of the 2010 Pie Franco. I hope that they are up to expectations.
