This is truly a great American Chardonnay, with a continental demeanor. Everything is in the right place and balanced. Medium bodied, orchard fruit (pear and green apple), lemon zest with a nice acidic cut yet a sensuous mouthfeel. Salty minerals. A hint of reduction; no noticeable oak. Still fairly primary, my last bottle will not last to maturity.

I buy this and the A-R Trout Gulch every year. I find the Watson is a little more giving in its youth, but I have not aged the Trout Gulch longer than 5 years so far to find out if I ultimately prefer it. As far as California wine goes, the prices are reasonable too.
PS: On your IG, drinking out of a Zalto Bdx?
Thanks Warren, A-R very quietly makes some of the world’s finest Chardonnay, IMO.

It’s a Gabriel Glas Gold universal. I love that glass.
Cheers
