2015 Anthill Farms Pinot Noir Comptche Ridge Vineyard - USA, California, North Coast, Mendocino County (10/25/2018)
Served with dinner, this was pleasant enough, with pretty red fruit and a bit of herb and earth, but it had no spark. There was nothing about the wine that spoke to it being something other than generic California Pinot Noir. There was no indication there was anything wrong with the bottle, but it did not seem like what I have come to expect from Anthill Farms or this particular vineyard site. Disappointing.

Weird one there. Got to taste all of these a few months ago with them when they were out in DC and all of the 2015 pinots were really nice, lots of sparks. Although the Campbell Ranch was my favorite of the lot, the Comptche was right up there. Hope it’s a one off!
