2014 Goodfellow Family Cellars Pinot Noir Durant Vineyard - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills (1/8/2023)

NOSE: very pretty: florals at the front, red fruits behind; medium+ expressiveness.

BODY: pinkish/purple/ruby color of light depth, with a hint of bricking at the edge; light bodied; Diam 5 closure.

TASTE: very light flavor initially; slightly bitter, with herbal red fruits – red currant and very light raspberry; hint of very fine tannins still present; medium-low to medium acidity; 14.2% alc., and it’s noticeable; the fruit is noticeably ripe, notwithstanding its lightweight presentation; paired well with Flannery beef tenderloin seasoned only with salt and green peppercorn rub; very pretty and elegant; lighter than I prefer; I’d like more acid, fruit, or both, but there’s nonetheless a spot for a wine like this in my cellar — no point in having monochromatic holdings.
